The Medieval Song Network

The Medieval Song Network is a research group of the Institute for Musical Research, founded in 2009. The network unites scholars with broad interests in medieval song, from literary, musical, historical, linguistic, paleographical and many other perspectives.

There are currently over 100 members of the Network from the UK, Europe and the USA. New members are always welcome: to join us, please contact the co-ordinators, Ardis Butterfield (a.butterfield@ucl.ac.uk) and Helen Deeming (helen.deeming@rhul.ac.uk). At the centre of the Network is a core group, more actively involved in its administration: members of this group are listed on the project description page.

This website carries information about events organised by the Network, and links to digital resources elsewhere on the web with relevance to medieval song. We have also established a working bibliography: please help us to expand these resources by sending information about publications and digital resources in the field to helen.deeming@rhul.ac.uk.
