Senate House Library Music Collection Working Group

Terms of reference

The SHL Music Collection Working Group exists to enable direct communication between library users, the Institute of Musical Research, and SHL specialist staff, on matters pertaining to collection development, local and national library matters affecting Music, and the profile of the collection in the wider musical and academic community.

Its remit is:

1 To receive reports on the development of the Music Collection and the general operation of Music library services within SHL.

2 To offer guidance to SHL on potential improvements to SHL Music provision.

3 To advise SHL on the co-ordination of collection development within the University of London and between the SHL and the British Library

4 To work to enhance the value and profile of the SHL Music Collection as a research and reference resource within the wider community.
