Early Career Research Associateships

These one-year appointments are open to UK and international researchers of outstanding promise who have no current academic affiliation. Applicants should be able to demonstrate that they have moved well beyond doctoral-level study; but they will normally be no more than four years beyond the successful defence of their PhD when taking up the appointment. They should also be in a position to contribute to the life of the Institute during their tenure (e.g. chairing or helping convene events).

Those wishing to apply should contact the Director in the first instance, and will be required to submit a full CV, a letter of application, and one academic reference.

Early Career Research Associates benefit from free access to IMR events, a Senate House library card, and remote access to the e-resources of Senate House Libraries, but no office space or other infrastructural support.

Applications for these Fellowships are submitted to at least one member of the Advisory Council for comment. There are no application deadlines.
